It has been 4.5 years since we had a crawling baby in the house, and she was the most zen crawling baby in the history of crawling. She always wanted to be in the room with me, and barely even wanted to climb the stairs…we could just wave our hand, say “these are not the stairs you’re looking for.” And she would crawl away. At least that’s how I’m choosing to remember it.
When we had the boys and I read about twin proofing I thought the claims must be exagerrated. Twin toddlers can move a couch? Be careful of one baby giving the other swirlies in the toilet? I saw one of our babies shove the other over the crossbar of our dining table the other day….and they aren’t walking or standing up unassisted yet.
So, we’re doing some minor construction around here. Anchoring a cabinet here, putting gates up there, putting tippy chairs in the garage, banishing a top heavy dresser to the basement, policing the bathroom door. The danger level is getting under control.
